The week is structured to spark curiosity, encourage experimentation, and build confidence through real world engagement.
Through a diverse lineup of initiatives including the Business Expo, EDEC Workshops, EDEC Impact, and EDEC Competitions, Business Week caters to students at every stage of their professional journey. Each program is thoughtfully curated to develop critical thinking, problem solving abilities, and an entrepreneurial mindset while encouraging hands-on learning and collaboration.

2025
The EDEC Business Summit 2025, held on February 25 at the Main Auditorium of Christ University, served as a premier platform for thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals to engage in discussions on business innovation and leadership. A flagship event of EDEC The Business Society, the summit marked the conclusion of Business Week, which began with TEDx Christ University and featured a series of impactful discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities. With over 2000 attendees, the event reinforced the role of education, experience, and leadership in shaping the future of business.
The summit commenced with the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing new opportunities and ideas, followed by opening remarks from distinguished faculty members including Professor Soumya V, Head of the Department of Professional Studies, and Dr. Biju Toms, Director of the School of Commerce, Finance & Accountancy. They emphasized the importance of bridging academia and industry, while Professor Soumya V also provided a reflective overview of the key events during Business Week, highlighting its success and value to students and professionals. The keynote sessions featured prominent industry leaders, including Chandrashekhar Ghosh, Founder and former Managing Director and CEO of Bandhan Bank, who spoke on transforming microfinance into mainstream banking, financial risk management, digital banking, and financial inclusion in a discussion moderated by Siddhant Bhandari, a finance expert and former All India Rank 1 CA Finalist.
Srikanth Bhagavat, Managing Director and Principal Advisor at Hexagon Wealth, delivered a session on investment strategies and financial planning, focusing on long term wealth generation, the impact of inflation, diversified asset allocation, and informed decision making. The final keynote speaker, Nina Lekhi, Founder and CEO of Baggit, shared her entrepreneurial journey in building a sustainable and cruelty free fashion brand, actively engaging with students by stepping off the stage to address questions on ethical decision making, sustainability challenges, and building a purpose driven business. The EDEC Business Summit 2025 successfully brought together academia and industry, offering a platform for meaningful dialogue and reinforcing the importance of innovation, leadership, and strategic thinking in preparing the next generation of business leaders.
