The academic enrichment workshop “Bridging Ancient Indian Knowledge Systems with Modern Financial Practices” provided students with a unique interdisciplinary perspective on finance by connecting traditional Indian economic thought with contemporary financial frameworks. Organized by EDEC – The Business Society at Christ University, the session was led by Dr. Ramakrishna Pejathaya, Faculty at the Centre of Indian Knowledge Systems, Chanakya University.

The workshop explored the relevance of concepts from the Arthashastra and Vedic economics, focusing on ethical governance, sustainable wealth creation, fiscal discipline, and long-term economic vision. Through historical references and modern examples, the speaker demonstrated how ancient principles of administration, taxation, and value creation continue to hold significance in present-day financial decision-making and business strategy.

Students actively engaged in discussions on applying these traditional insights to modern finance, gaining a broader understanding of ethical leadership and inclusive economic development. Overall, the session successfully broadened participants’ intellectual horizons and reinforced the importance of integrating indigenous knowledge systems into contemporary finance and management education.
