The industry workshop “Navigating the Human Side of Finance: Integrating Talent and Strategy” offered students a valuable perspective on the evolving role of finance professionals in today’s global organisations. Led by Mr. Ramasubramanian Ramachandran, Managing Director, Human Capital Management at Goldman Sachs, the session highlighted how technical expertise alone is no longer sufficient for success in modern finance careers.

The discussion focused on the integration of human capital management with financial and business strategy, covering leadership development, organisational culture, talent management, diversity and inclusion, and the role of technology in HR processes. Drawing on real-world examples from Goldman Sachs, the speaker illustrated how finance and HR functions work collaboratively to drive sustainable performance and long-term growth.

The workshop actively engaged students through practical insights and interactive discussions, helping them understand career expectations in global financial institutions. Overall, the session successfully bridged academic concepts with real-world organisational practices, preparing students for leadership roles that require strategic thinking, adaptability, and strong people management skills.
